LEGISLATIVE:

May attend but not vote at Executive Board meetings, works with SDPTA lobbyists & encourage members to be pro-active with their area legislators. Monitor all legislation that may affect Physical Therapy in South Dakota & report to the Executive Board, lobbyists, & members. Work with South Dakota national issues & be in contact with the Governmental Affairs Office at APTA.

NEWSLETTER:

Work in coordination with SDPTA Executive Office to provide editorial input, assure appropriate advertising in the newsletter, and assure appropriate SDPTA business info is printed in the newsletter & sent out in a timely manner.

NOMINATING:

The present slate of nominees for semi-annual elections, promote a pool of nominees, oversee voting & absentee ballots, prepare questionnaires to candidates, compile information for newsletter & meetings, and promote involvement in National APTA.

PUBLIC RELATIONS:

Keep chapter & Executive Board aware of public relations activities & community involvement. Assist with Legislative coffee day in Pierre during an active session. Promote awareness of SDPTA in a professional manner to the population of South Dakota.

REIMBURSEMENT:

Provide information to the membership on a timely basis regarding insurance & reimbursement issues by reports to newsletter or website coordinator. Coordinate letter writing to legislators regarding insurance issues locally & nationally. Communicate with insurance companies.
